When you first got started as a virtual assistant, you had a business plan. If this plan was well written, it includes plans for the growth of your business – and now that your business is growing, it’s time to turn these plans into action. You should begin planning for expansion before your business grows to the point where your hand is forced. It’ll make it a lot easier to make your plans for expansion a reality with a minimum of hassle – and part of growing your business is outsourcing.

Thanks for the awesome post Andrea! I’m at this exact point in my business right now! I have my legal stuff all set to go but I’m still working on the processes. I have subbed for too many VA Teams that didn’t have any systems (or not very good ones) in place and it was a nightmare!!
Do you have any experience with Google Wave?? It was suggested to me as an alternative to BaseCamp Central Desktop etc. Do you have a collaborative workspace that you recommend?
Since I’m normally a lone wolf in my business, I haven’t utilized many of the team collaboration services. One I have used is ClientSpot. One of the main reasons I liked it is because it is simple, yet offered a project and task time tracking feature. Something that the one subcontractor I have used in the past really liked.
I really haven’t had the time to play with Google Wave. Just got in, looked around, and back out again. LOL. Sorry.
Hey Amy,
As you know I am a big fan of Team Work Live. This is the best proj mgmt tool I’ve found and is easy to use, intuitive, allows for uploads, time tracking, budgeting if needed, and they are very responsive with feedback. I like it so much better than My Client Spot, Basecamp, Central Desktop, Airset, and various others out there.
Hope that helps.
Sandy
Thanks so much for sharing your fav, Sandy!
Thanks Andrea and Sandy!
I did the same thing with Google Wave..Ooooo the invites were such a big deal and the end product (IMHO) seemed a bit of a let down. I must admit though, I never really dove too deep into it.
I forgot all about Team Work Live…gonna go check and see if they have a trial.
Thanks again Ladies
